Day 1 – Miami, FL – Today arrive into Miami, FL for an overnight stay at a Miami Beach Hotel. Dinner is on your own.
Day 2 – Little Havana Tour & Board the Empress of the Seas – After breakfast this morning, you will meet a local guide for a Little Havana Art Tour. Little Havana boasts a thriving arts and culture scene with a distinctly Cuban flair. The streets are colorful with both painted and mosaic tile murals. They depict symbols of Cuba, like tropical fruit, musical instruments, dominos, and cigars, while others illustrate Cuban legends, from poet and revolutionary Jose Marti to the singer Celia Cruz who once performed in the neighborhood.
This afternoon you will board Royal Caribbean’s Empress of the Seas. The ship sets sail at 4:00 pm. From the moment you step aboard, you’ll see that the Empress of the Seas offers something for everyone. Your options are nearly limitless with numerous dining options, bars and lounges, an onboard spa and a casino that has all of your favorite games and slots.
Day 3 – Havana, Cuba – Colorful clothes blur by you as dancers move to the beat of salsa. Wisps of cigar smoke swirl above the heads of locals enjoying a game of dominos. Chilled glasses clink in rhythm to trumpet notes as you savor mojitos and live jazz. Be among the first to explore Havana with Norwegian and experience the sabor of Cuba. Stroll colorful attractions as bright classic cars cruise wide boulevards.
Day 4 – Day at Sea – Today, enjoy the day sailing the warm Caribbean waters. Grab a book from the ship’s library and enjoy reading it on the sun deck, or get yourself a manicure or massage from the Vitality Spa. The day is yours to enjoy however you wish!
Day 5 – Cienfuegos, Cuba – The colonial waterfront town of Cienfuegos, known as La Perla del Sur (Pearl of the South), sits pretty on the south-central coast of Cuba. Cienfuegos literally translates to “one hundred fires”, and the town certainly adds a bright light to this fascinating country.
Clean and laid-back, Cienfuegos is a place whose elegant French charm meets its fiery Caribbean spirit to a refreshing and delightful result. Enjoy pleasant breezes as you take in the neoclassical, art nouveau and art deco styles the town has to offer. Discover the stunningly ornate Palacio de Valle along the Paseo del Prado and take in the Arco de Triunfo, the only structure of its kind in Cuba, dedicated to the Cuban independence.
Enjoy the short boat ride to cross the castle drawbridge and explore Castillo de Jagua, a 17th-century Spanish fortress. Discover the staggering collection of tropical plants among the 97 hectares of the Jardín Botánico de Cienfuegos, an extraordinary botanic garden, or venture a little further to explore the trails, waterfalls and cascading natural pools of Parque el Nicho.
Day 6 – Day at Sea – Today is another day spent at sea. Take part in one of the many activities scheduled throughout the day. Relax in the pool or the whirlpool. The day is yours.
Day 7 – Santiago de Cuba, Cuba – Santiago is Cuba’s largest urban area outside Havana, and the hub of the eastern half of Cuba. Santiago’s main drawcard undoubtedly is it music. However there are other features to this city that will keep the visitor more than interested. Much of this is centred around Santiago’s history. It was the capital of Cuba for a time, the place where the Bacardi family invented their rum brand, and the birthplace of the rebel movement that went on to become the Cuban Revolution and the Cuban Government for over half a century. Jose Marti – Cuba’s ideological father is buried here and so to none other than Fidel Castro himself. However nearby there are natural areas of interest to the traveller such as beaches and national parks to the east, and Cuba’s highest mountain range – the Sierra Maestra – immediately to the West.
Day 8 – Labadee, Haiti – On the north coast of Haiti, surrounded by beautiful mountain slopes and exotic foliage, sits Labadee®, Royal Caribbean’s private paradise. This exclusive destination offers pristine beaches, breathtaking scenery and spectacular water activities. There’s even an amazing new Aqua Park. Regardless of where you go, you’ll find yourself embraced by the beautiful landscape. Labadee’s native charm, along with its natural beauty, make this a destination not to be missed.
Day 9 – Day at Sea
Day 10 – Return to Miami – Disembark this morning and return home.
